"Looking at getting a mac"...didn't you just purchase a MacBook Pro about 2 weeks ago? Do you mean a second Mac...possibly a desktop model?

As far as the "wired or wireless":

- the "cons" are pretty obvious...wires;)
- the "pros"...no wires;)

Another "con" would be you have to occasionally replace the batteries in the wireless items (but this really isn't a big deal or cost).

Ahh...I see. The 2nd Mac would be for your parents. Depending on how "computer savvy" your parents are...maybe a wired keyboard & mouse is a better idea. Less hassles...especially if you don't live close to your parents to help them out with the occasional computer issue.

You do have the batteries to deal with...and occasionally you can run into "loss of connectivity" issues with wireless products.

Ive never ran into any problems with my wireless key board and mouse on my iMac, although when the batteries get less than say around20% they can play up a little.

I believe the wired keyboard also has a numeric keypad on the right hand side though, usually a winner for those that prefer it.
