I have been looking at various forums and the general consensus is that to use the windows 7 iso with bootcamp you must

1. burn it to a dvd

2. make a bootable usb.

The problem is that my macbook pro's optical drive is broken so it can't read dvd's and most programs that create a bootable usb are for windows. Suggestions?

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Get a new Superdrive either internal or external, preferably the internal which will be bootable. MacBooks and iMacs do seem to go through an unusally high number of optical drives.
