The backquote (`) key doesn't type anything with most programs on snow leopard

When I type the key "`", nothing appears in most applications, like text edit, chrome, thunderbird (and many more). However it works correctly in some apps, like iTerm2 and macvim.

In the programs where it doesn't work, I can enter it using alt-`, however if I type an e after entering a backquote that way, I get è, which is very frustrating.

Is there a way to get the backquote key working for all apps? I'm running snow leopard 10.6.6, using a logitech G15 keyboard.

Take a look at the last post here if you've installed the Vi Input Manager. If not, have you changed any keybindings lately or installed something?

Thanks, that was exactly the problem. The vi input manager never worked for me, but I never removed the files after trying it out.
