I would like to purchase a macbook pro 15 inch but I don't really want to spend so much money. I was wondering if it would be cost efficient to purchase a macbook from the last generation vs the one that recently came out. I am not a gamer or anything I will only be using the mac for school/personal purposes.

Thanks

Your Mac's Specs
2018 15" MBP, 2019 11" iPad Pro, iPhone 11 Pro
Yes, previous generation MBP would be more than adequate for your uses.
Even a 13" MacBook would be very sufficient, but you may not want that screen size. Up to you.
If you decide not to purchase the brand new models, look at Apple's refurb store for great deals. I assure you, those are same as new. You will not know the difference. :)

Plus with the refurb store you still get the default 12 month applecare warranty.

Get what you can afford. Just because a new model comes out doesn't make it obsolete all of a sudden.
