Hi Folks,

I have a G5 20" iMac 2005 with the following problem.

The keyboard and mouse will stop working after computer warms up or is used hard. Then the "You must restart...." message appears. The LED on the mouse still works when it can't be recognized.

What I have done:

Reset PRAM
Reset SMU
Reinstalled OS on new hard drive.

Fans operate normally and Diagnostic LEDs on logic board read normal. Processor over temp LED doesn't come on.

Computer will work all day long in 50 degree room temperature, but not in 70 degrees.

Anybody been here before? Ideas?

Thanks

Mark

Problem solved

Problem solved but not sure why.

Removed logic board and inspected bottom side. Inspected all capacitors and heat sinks for fit. Everything looked great. All connectors were tight and clean. Reassembled and powered up. iMac now runs fine.
