I would say if you didn't add anything to it put john inc. on the lower left...
I would also say that a transparent-ish apple logo a little larger then the sig (so you can only see part of it) would look nice if you decided to leave john inch where it was...

I don't think the color or font of the text fits all that well with the background, but that's only my opinion. There's nothing terribly wrong with it, I'd just select something a bit different.

I agree with Padawan, the font type does not fit the style of the background, i would go for a simple font, like Andale Mono in upper caps and double space on the left side, but in the middle.

I think it's to big. I got my butt chewed for something smaller than that.

iBook G3 - You'll be missed.
just my 2cents, i think you should cut the bevel and emboss out. and change the font a tad, other than that it looks really good, i like the background on it . good job.

to inap, it's recommended length that's in the rules (480 px)

If my memory works you have motion blur, just add one layer to each side (motion right, motion left), drop a little shadow and some blue glow. The font is Andale Mono.

Can you give me a detailed step by step?
I've always really sucked at Photoshop and Fireworks.

Graphite, you meanie! He's trying his best :)

My opinion: you should copy the mac-forums.com header to show how much you love us all. Failing that, I agree that the font needs changing and you should lose the bevel.

Your current signature is too large and doesn't fit within the forum guidelines. It's currently 160kb and the max is 15kb. Check out the guidelines first to make sure whatever you're making is within the rules.

160kb for a sig kills anyone on a dialup connection.

i must be blind not to see the name..
my suggestion: a smaller font size, and make the apple brighter so that there is enough contrast.

I really liked Mraya's idea but I think he did it in photoshop which I really don't know how to use.
