Did you customize it?

What was the estimated ship date they gave you?

You realize you're ordering from a manufacturer, not a 3rd party that has stuff sitting on shelves waiting for you. You know they sell around 30,000+ computers a day right?

30,000 computers a day? really?

how would that even be possible? That would mean that if they on average sold one for $1,500 that would be over 16B$ a year in sales. really?

The machine is shipped from China so it will take awhile. Apple's machines are built in China and are shipped direct from there when you order on line.

Don't forget that part of that total may be iPods, iPads, iPhones, etc....as well as computers!

Whether something costs $50 or $1500 bucks...it's just as much paperwork/logistics.;)

You may also want to check this story out:

Apple selling 37.5K iPads per day - iPAD.BLORGE

...about Apple selling 37,500 iPads/day. Then add to this total all computers, iPhones, iPods, and other accessories to the "Grand Total" of orders shipped/day...either directly to individual customers or to each Apple Store.

That was in 2009 they hit 30,000 Macs a day with 11.2 million sold. I haven't seen the 2010 figures.

Their revenue for the first fiscal quarter of 2011 was 26.74 billion - on their way to a 100 billion dollar year.
During which time they sold 4.1 million Macs - or almost 45,000 per day.
Along with those were:
16+ million iPhones
19+ million iPods
7+ million iPads
This is one quarter!!

Now folks can begin to understand that even with the best QC, some units are going to make it into customers hands and have a part that fails.

I wish!;) I think/hope that most folks understand that no manufacturing process (even with excellent QC/QA) ships 100% defective free products. Of course nobody wants to think that the defective product will be their item.
