If you download OpenOffice (freeware), you can get lots of invoice templates from their website here. They are customizable and you can use £ for your monetary values. It just may not be the default one, but you can change it manually.

why not go all the way and use a free and online invoice template << that has more functionality than your standard office solution for the purpose. There are probably tons of similar free solutions like the one i pointed you to. What I like about these kind of systems is that they remind you about all the required fields. On the other hand the ability to customize it is lacking a bit.
