Sign up for a photobucket account or similar account. Copy image code and post it as you just did. When you copy/paste, make sure you delete the "
before and after your image's URL. Mac-Forums will automatically add that part necessary to post the image.

Didn't you say you lived up in Alaska? Maybe they felt sorry for you? LOL

If you live in a state that has no Apple retail stores...then there is no tax.:)

- Nick

I thought about that. The only reason I didn't think that was it for sure is that they sell them to best buy,SAMs,walmart, and AT&T. So I wasn't sure thanks for your input.

Not sure how all that plays out. We don't have an Apple Store in Arkansas, but when I challenged Apple sales on having to pay tax (a few years ago) they said Apple Educational sales count as well for establishing sales tax requirement.
Maybe things have changed. I will definitely bring it up at my next purchase.

As an example...go to MacMall.com. As far as I know MacMall only has retail stores in California. Try ordering an Apple product (I tried with a MacBook Pro)...I do not live in California...and there was no sales tax for the order.

There are lots of Walmarts, Best Buys, Target's, etc. in my state...so if what you mentioned above...then Macmall would have to charge me sales tax...but they don't.

It's not about whether Apple products are sold in your state (I'm sure Apple products are sold in every US state by someone)...it's about if Apple Retail Stores exist in your state. No Apple Stores...supposed to be no sales tax.

Apple will charge state sales tax for any state they have a physical business presence in. New Hampshire is one state that has no sales tax or income tax. I don't remember if there are other states that have no sales tax.

Delaware also does not have sales tax.

Here's a map showing Apple Store locations (I'm assuming it's not official, looks like someones homemade Google map with markers))...but if it's mostly correct...you can see there are a bunch of states without an Apple Store (Arkansas, Montana, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Alaska, Wyoming, etc.):
