Macbook pro usb ports aren't working help!

Just recently, my usb ports aren't working. I use them to plug in an external mouse and a wireless keyboard. They are apparently not working and I do not know why. Is there a way to fix this? please help and thank you for helping me in advanced.

have you tried other peripherals in the slots?
