PPPoe

I have a PPPoe connection to my DSL, it works on my pc with minimal configuration. When I connect it to my MAC however, when I put the username and password in it connected. The trouble it when I open IE or Safarri to actually go online. The connection actually timesout and when I try to fiddle with the IP the feild for IE is grayed out and I can't. Is there a way to fix this? I am running on MAC OS-X 10.3 and can't figure it out. Please help!!

Do you need to manually set the DNS servers in the connection settings or are they automatically assigned by your provider?
