Hiya,

I'm trying to get my macally icecam2 to work on my on an eMac OS 10.4.11.

The cam's power light comes on but I always get the message "camera is in use by other application.

Is the problem that the icecam2 needs USB2, and my eMac has an older USB?

Can I solve this by using a firewire adapter?

Your machine does not support the MacAlly IceCam2 as it's designed only for high speed ports and it specifically says it will not work on G4 PPC machines.

Quote below:

IceCam2 is designed for computers equipped with Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports(480Mb/s). IceCam2 does not support G4 Powerbook, G4 desktop computer and iBook.

And no, you can not convert USB to firewire.

I suggest returning it for a refund and purchase a webcam that is compatible with your machine.
