I have 4026 songs in my library, some of that is my sisters, but the majority is on her computer. I should move them to a external hard drive. That would save so much space.

I have 8,020 songs; 39.08 GB. I'm thinking of really cleaning it up because when I put on shuffle, some songs that come on are so random and make me think how and why I ever got them. -_-

I'm fond of certain songs that may fall into other genres, but I have whole albums of bands and singers that I do NOT listen to regularly, or even once in a while for that matter. I don't know why I have music like that in my iTunes... -_-

I currently have about 1,000 most of them fit on my nano, and about 1/3 on my shuffle. I really need to get more i am going to have to take the time to copy all of my cds over.

Although I own (literally) thousands of CDs (and have bought hundreds of songs from iTunes as well), I have found over the years that there is little actual value in having a collection any larger than what you are practically going to have time to listen to.

People report crap like they have 80,000 songs (mostly stolen, of course) like that's supposed to be impressive. What would actually be impressive is if you could name them, or say you've heard them all.

I prefer music that means something to me. It's not an art form I think is better in bulk (come to think of it, no art form is better in bulk).

Most stolen, of course

Well when a thread asks what number you have, i for one didnt show mine to get a big head or to try and impress people, I piped in with a number bc thats what the OP asked for.
No i havnt heard a great deal of mine. Within ALL the Albums i have probably 50 Odd i would listen too from start to finish and the others are either presents or i bought them bc of 1 song or even a few took my fancy.

Saying people with x amount of songs 'Most stolen, of course' is only a guess at best i reckon. . . .

Also, can you honestly say you've NEVER borrowed a CD or an album and copied it, or recorded it to cassette tape (if you're old enough to remember them)?
That was always supposed to be illegal, and yet everyone did it. It's not really any different from downloading is it.
That's a pretty sweeping statement to say that it's mostly stolen music.

That's an interesting point. I actually prefer having a huge library, kind of like hoarders who fill their homes with unnecessary objects. I hoard data instead, so I don't have to live in a labyrinth of junk. :p
But yes, the truth is that I'll probably never listen to all those songs, but I like the feeling of having them all the same. I see it as a repository for the future.
BTW out of +9000 songs and 70 GB, none of it is stolen. It's all CDs. Some of them borrowed from friends or family, buy never torrented.

I only have 1218, which might include some videos and podcasts. My collection is pretty small, since I'm so picky with my music. I'm even looking to remove some albums I no longer listen to.

I'm willing to bet I still have some old podcasts from the podcast craze back in the day. :p
