I have a 2TB external USB HD that does not mount on my 17"macbook pro. It also doesn't show up in 'disc utility' at all. It mounts on my mac at work. It mounts on my friend's macbook pro.

I copied all the data on it to my mac at work, formatted the drive for mac OS (journaled), tested it, and then it mounted.

I then copied the data back. Now it doesn't mount again. It also doesn't show up in 'disc utility' at all. (on my mac)

All macs in question are running OS 10.6.2 or later.

Do I need a firmware update, or a priest?

Are you using the same cable as used at work? Have you tried a different USB port on your MBP? The concerns that come to mind are a faulty USB cable, or a faulty USB port.
