Whats more is I started with 103%. I don't understand. I've had the mac for maybe a month but I've been careful to use the battery as recommended. I always keep it plugged in save for once or twice a week. Is coconut battery wrong or am I doing something terribly wrong with the battery that it's already at 98%?

Nope. This is completely normal. There is no physical "fuel gauge" in a battery. What the system knows about its health is really nothing more than educated guesses. As you use the machine, the SMC will learn more and more about how the battery reacts to load. In short, don't sweat it unless you're running into unusually short run time (which could indicate a defective battery). Battery chemistry, despite advances in the last decade, is elusive and will vary from system to system.

PHEW. I was so worried. This mac is my baby and I thought I was already screwing it up.
