Every time I plug my iPod (5th gen) into iTunes after an update, iTunes thinks for a minute or two, and then fails to recognize the ipod. The icon shows up, but it asks me to reset my ipod to factory settings, which forces me to re-sync the entire thing. I am using an up to date version of iTunes, and I do not have anything other than music and audio podcasts on it. Any advice on how to get it to stop doing that? I use a mac.
Random information:
-I used to use the ipod's disc mode to store pictures and videos, but don't anymore.
-I have used "utilities" to restore files that got deleted off iTunes from the hidden files on my ipod. It worked for about two weeks after that before this problem began.
