Hi, I have a 2006 macbook 2.0 ghz intel core duo (not core 2 duo) that I have recently put 2gb of ram in and installed a cruicial solid state hard drive. It has a COMPLETELY fresh installation on the new hard drive of mac os 10.6.3. My question is, why am I getting a geekbench score of around 1340 when scores I see online are around 2300-2500 for macbooks with lesser hardware than mine? Any advice? Thanks.

One thing to do is open "Activity Monitor" (in your Utilities folder) to see if any sort of background activities are going on...and using system resources that could be effecting the Geekbench score.

And something that will absolutely kill the speed of your SSD is cloning the operating system or software to it. Clean install of OS X.6.3, update to OS X.6.6 and use Migration Assistant for Applications, Network Settings etc.
