We have an older Dell which only does SVGA but it works well with Powerpoint and any other program that is similar. And yes, they are easy to use.
The thing to remember when buying a DLP is to get one that can display in higher resolutions. Attaching a projector to your Mac is the same as attaching an external monitor so the same thing applies about adapters and input.
Do your homework before buying and stay away from cheap knock off projectors as they will cost more in the long haul. Lamp replacement can cause "sticker shock".
