So i have some groups for just users that have permissions that differ due to what class is in the mac lab. I was wondering if i create a Computer group so that i can make it that the login window shows the network status would this possibly effect any of the permissions i have in store for the individual user groups that are in the same room. (Does what i'm saying make sense lol)

No. Each individual computer needs to have it's permissions set independently.
