I've had my Mac since the beginning of the year, and I've been madly in love with it. I've raved about it. So last night my DH looks at me sadly over the back of his (the replacement for what used to be my) Alienware and says in an almost little kid voice, "You're really never coming back, are you?" I was taken aback by the question and had to ask what he meant. "To Windows?" I'm not the type to say never but the chances are scientifically insignificant.

I was shocked because I have been telling him repeatedly how much I love my Mac and thanking him profusely for the gift. Turns out he thought much of the first reaction was simple joy of not dealing with the junk Alienware I'd been running. It wasn't until I told him I had not shut down or reboot the Mac in 3 weeks and hadn't had network issues this year that it sank in that maybe, just maybe after the honeymoon phase was over I was still head over heels for my Mac.

Windows users can be so cute. ;) ETA: I still haven't told him I deleted my Bootcamp partition weeks ago. I don't think he's ready to hear that.

Funny, I moved my wife from an Alienware to a MacBook Air. She had some niggles about office 2008, with Office 2011 all those problems were solved. I still have a gaming rig and a couple of old laptops running xp and Linux, but all new computers have been Macs. Your sig says it all, I am moving everyone to Macs to lessen my tech support burden. :)

Domestic Husband?

That or the OP is on a baseball team and is referring to a Designated Hitter.

Oh. Well see, now that would just be silly. Would that be vs an imported husband? Think I like dumb husband better.

Haha! I was going along the lines of domestic partner. Or does that only apply to same-sex partners? I must be thinking of common-law husband. Hmm... Why are we giving this so much thought?

You want to know what's really funny? I homeschool my kids, and when something doesn't work quite right I send them over to the Mac to keep working while I figure out their Windows issues. My daughters are now fighting over who gets the Mac hand me down when I upgrade. They are only 7 and 5, but they know the machine with the Apple on it just works.

And yeah, if I could afford to replace all the kids' Windows boxes with Macs, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Hubby won't touch my Mac. He says if it's half as good as I say it is he'll be miserable until it's his turn to upgrade in 2 years. ;D Luckily he's capable of troubleshooting his own comp except where networking is concerned.

I have no idea what you just said. I've been hanging on cloth diapering and knitting forums recently, and that's where DH crept in.

No idea what OOC is. Guess I could Google it, but where's the fun in that?

OOC = Out Of Control. I think. Sounds right given the context.
