just out of interest, how many of you guys use this encoder compared to the stock itunes one? any views?

also, how would i automate this command line process? via a service workflow?

If I was still using MP3, I would totally use LAME. I had a little script in iTunes that handled this beautifully.

I'm no audiophile snob, but I can hear the difference in MP3 and AAC at the same bitrate, and IMHO AAC sounds much warmer and better with midtones. So I use AAC now.

i hear a little bit more brightness with lame; i was using AAC before but decided to switch to mp3 for compatibility reasons.

out of interest, how did you set up this script and what did it do?
