What do we expect in iPad 2? | 9 to 5 Mac What do we expect in iPad 2? | Apple Intelligence

That's waht AllThingsD expects...but what do you guys expect? What do you consider a sure-shot, definitely going to happen? What seems unlikely, but you hope would really happen?

I know it's definitely going to be thinner and lighter and I'm hoping Apple will "wow" us with the weight.

More importantly, I hope Apple throws everyone way off course and actually does introduce a "retina" display on the iPad!!!!!!!

Also I hope for minimum of 5, but hopefully 8 MP camera on the back.

I can't see anything too wow coming in the ipad 2. Everything in the link is all I expect really. I think the real wow will be in iOS 5. And fix those push notifications everyone's been complaining about.

I wish I had an iphone to complain about in the first place :( lol

I'm in a super-dead att area so it's just pointless for me to try, and clearly I wasn't going to get the iphone 4 for verizon when the 5th version is right around the corner...so I will be getting that one.

That's the thing though, if all of this is right and there's not much else to the iPad 2, I think Apple hasn't done so good as protecting its secrets :(

I'm more interested in the software features than hardware. I could care less about cameras, but an improved screen and maybe CD slot would be nice. I really don't care what's under the hood as long as the software is powerful, intuitive, and runs smoothly. This is what the Android community, which is always hyped about specs, can't seem to understand. I've tried older Androids and though they have impressive spec sheets the software seems to still run poorly. I just can't get behind that.

Having said that though, I will be interested in comparing Android Honeycomb software against whatever Apple has coming up, so I'm really hoping for a sneak peak, if not a full preview of iOS5.

Well we all know when it comes to software iOS has always had Android beat. Now with honeycomb, I agree. I would like to see what Apple has planned.

But the reason I'm so excited about the iPad 2 is because I'm that type of person that re-ups every year on certain products(its actually my only iOS device) so I'm really hoping they don't put "that same old" screen in it. At the very least, I hope they literally blow all of this Xoom hype out of the water.

Why don't we just wait less than 24 hours...and when Apple announces the details tomorrow...we'll have all the facts.;)

I really don't care for hardware improvements since the first iPad has pretty much all the physical functionality I need out of a tablet. It's the software that has me intrigued. I really hope iOS 5 is going to bring much needed changes like an improved notification system.

It's one thing to talk about what we want to see in iPad 2 when the launch is 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, or 2 weeks away...but when we know that the introduction for iPad 2 is less than 24 hours away...not a whole lot to be gained by discussing the topic at this point.

By well before this time tomorrow...we will know the whole deal!:)

It's very much fun; you're crazy! I'm dying with anticipation, but I'm 19 years old and going into school for Computer Science and gadgets are literally my life!

My family thinks that I actually don't have a physical heart anymore and I rely on my gadgets to keep me alive, and I'd die without having something on me lol.

I got so anxious for Lion I downloaded it quick just to see what its like!!!

Unfortunately I've got to wait for my tax return to come in to get one. :(

Expecting: camera(s), flat back, (slightly) improved resolution, thinner+lighter.

Possible: MobileMe overhaul (free?) iOS 5 preview, release of iOS 4.3

Let's see how things change in 5-10 years:

- after you're married
- got 2-3 kids
- got a house with lots of chores
- and have no spending money (house payments, car payments, "gadgets" to buy your children, etc.)

...enjoy being single & "gadgets being your life" for the moment!;)

I'm still in the midst of convincing my girlfriend that she doesn't want children lol

In the mean time though, I told her I'll exhaust every option I have to make sure I can get at the bare minimum, a new Macbook every year.

Good luck with that! You'll find that what they say they don't want today...they change their mind & want tomorrow!;)
