Hi all,

I recently bought an iPhone 3gs that is locked, and having problems to set it free.

After having tried using the latest Pwnage tool from iClarified, I failed, and might accidentally have been updating the iPhone to the latest baseband as well.

I have reason to believe that my iPhone is now on the latest firmware 4.2.1 and the latest baseband, and I have no idea how to unlock it.

There are sites that claim to sell a service for some USD, that'll unlock any iPhone with any firmware and baseband.

I have no problems paying 10-20 USD for this, but my instinct tells me it might be a scam, since it is not available for free...

Any ideas if sites/services like those work? Or what I can do else to unlock my iPhone?

Thanks in advance

What is your baseband version? You can figure it out from Settings -> General -> about -> modem firmware.

According to dev-team blog it has to be one of the following
3G/3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01 and 05.13.04

Those unlock sites are usually fakes or scams - don't bother with them.
