Hey folks,
my 3yr old imac crashed on Thursday and when I restarted all I got was a folder icon and a blinking question mark. Restarted in safe mode, no joy, left down for 20 mins then restarted holding down shift, option and c (hedging my bets) and it restarted ok. Ran a disk utility without any problems reported and everything seemed fine. Now today, same thing happened. I've got everything backed up, that's all fine, I just don't want to have to replace the mac, I'm very fond of her. Any ideas? I've been looking at MacKeeper, hoping running that might give the old betsy a new lease of life - anyone had any joy wth it? Or know what else I can do?
Thanks!

Unfortunately it sounds like a failing HDD and a replacement is in order. The flashing folder with a question mark means it can't find the OS. Meaning it is getting corrupted. Either try a fresh OS install to see if it solves the problem, if not then a new HDD.

Hope this helps.
