hey everyone

I was installing some system updates last night and my MacBook pro froze during the restart with a black screen. Now if I turn it on I dont get any chime tone or anything. The screen just stays black and frozen but I can hear the fans turn on the light on the latch to turn up the screen turns on. I've tried safe booting but none yof the boot commands do anything. Also I have bootcamp and windows is the default partition that's it boots into so I would have to also hold option at start to get it int osx if it were working properly. Does anyone have any ideas??

Try booting the machine (you didn't give us any specs) with your original install recovery DVD. If you can get to the install screen, accept the language, then click on the top menu "Utilities" and "Disk Utility". Run a verify and repair from the First Aid menu. Post back results.
