I have a problem as of (seems to be) installing Tiger, I cannot burn large capacity DVD's anymore using my LaCie d2 FireWire drive on my iMac 17" 1.25GHz. I can burn DVD and CD data under a certain amount (say 200MB) but anything over that and I get the error "The device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or retry."
This is using Disk Utility. Using the internal DVD drive works fine.
Now get this: I CAN burn the same image files that failed in Disk Utility on the d2 drive by using Toast. It's odd.
I have tried three different types of media including -/+RW.
Any ideas?
I've updated the drive's firmware, discrecorder profile, and the same thing happens when I plug the drive into my PowerBook 12" 1.33 GHz.
In both cases, PB and iMac, they are:
Running 10.4.2
768MB RAM
I put in an email to LaCie Tech Support but I doubt they can help, we'll see...
TIA
