Interval Emailing

Hey all!

We are running a study, and need to send emails out to people at certain times. So, for instance, participant 1 needs to get an email everyday, for 30 days; participant 2 needs to get an email once a week for 4 weeks. Stuff like that.

Anyone know of any good programs that will do this? We have tried MailScheduler but it does not work at all. Any help is GREATLY appreciated (so we don't have to do this by hand)!

This sounds like a job for AppleScript, working in conjunction with Apple's Mail and iCal. Fortunately, someone has already created an AppleScript for you:

Looks good as a last solution. The problem with this is that it requires a larger amount of man-hours to put in an event for everyday someone gets an email. To do that 30 times, for 100 participants; thats a lot of hours. But, it still beats having to send the emails by hand .... so I won't completely rule it out.

Sounds like something Automator could do, or at least most of the work.

There are a number of bulk mailing programs for the Mac (MaxBulkMailer, Direct Mail, etc.), but unfortunately they don't offer the precision scheduling that you are looking for. Nothing else that I know of does.
