I'm not pretending to know much of anything here...but isn't jailbreaking in itself actually legal? If so, how can Apple do this? It'd be like GM shutting off your car through onstar because you changed the color of your paint >_<

To use your example Pope.
It'd be like trying to get your Holden car serviced by a Ford only garage. The Ford people would say no way this is Ford only.

And the same way Apple is allowed to limit it's services to only it's products if it wants to. Yes jail breaking is not against the law. But it is also not against the law for Apple to allow it's services only on not jail broken devices.

Never thought of it like that!

I pay for all my apps and whatnot anyways so I don't really have a reason to jailbreak anyways :p

One word, okay acronym ,.......EULA. We don't have to like it but we do have to accept it. Content providers and developers are calling the shots for now.

My iBook app is working fine. There are plenty of sources for getting e-books.
