....Until then I had all my files backed up onto a WD Passport, now my passport wont even show up at all. I'm assuming this has something to do with me upgrade. Is there anything I can do to make my Passport show up again? Do I have to downgrade? If so, how do I downgrade to 10.6.5?

Whenever upgrade trouble strikes, suggest downloading the Combo Updater and running that, then run Repair Permissions. Does the external appear in Disk Utility?
