How come the control + apple + D combination to look up a word in any application doesn't work in Firefox? Is there a way to get it to work?

Apple f is the find command, as in find a certain word on a page.
He's talking about using the built-in oxford dictionary to look up definitions of a word...
Don't think that will work as Firefox doesn't support that feature of OS X.
Some apps support these niceties (such as built-in spell checker or dictionary lookup) and other don't, I think it depends on how they were programmed.
