So I have an M Audio fast track ultra USB interface with 4 inputs. It has worked fine with my Macbook and Garageband with no problem. It allowed me to enable multi track recording and particularly for drums allowed me to check individual inputs from the fast track ultra to be assigned to different garageband tracks.
I recently upgraded to Garageband 11, and it doesn't want to recognize the device now. When I look in audio preferences it shows the fast track, and it is checked as the assigned input device. But now when I go to garageband, it only recognizes the built in inputs for audio recording.
I upgraded the driver again. I am running snow leopard on the machine and always have been.
