Holiday Advice Please

Hello all, especially southern Americans

I've booked a holiday for the start of september and have return flights to Atlanta. I plan to pick up a car and drive down to New Orleans, may be via Nashville and Memphis.

I'm really looking for any advice on what sites to take in when i'm in this area. I've got two weeks to fill but want to spend a good chunk of this time in New Orleans itself.

So anyone got any advice of the best sights and sounds. I'm all up for both the touristy sight seeing cliche stuff as well as the more gritty underground nights out and less known hidden gems.

well, in memphis, there is graceland - the home of elvis.

Definately hit Graceland. It is very worth it, great place. Very interesting, you can spend hours there depending on how interested you are in it. Highly recommend it. Have fun!
