Why can I not figure this out?

I need to create a bootable usb stick with freenas .img file so that I can configure a NAS machine. I have the file, I have the usb thumb drive. What I don't have is the knowledge of how to do this on my MBP. Can this be done?

Thanks,
Hutch

I have the file,
As an image? If so just drag and drop. As an ordinary file type? Use Disk Utility, which is in the Applications>Utilities folder.

As an image. I need to make the USB stick bootable. Seems that when I tried the drag and drop, it just put the file on the stick. Will check again this eve.

Thanks,

Hmmm...the image should just transfer as an image.
