What is MS SilverLight?

Just logged on to Hooters.com to order some wings online and am being asked to download MS SilverLight. Can/should I download to my iMAC??

p.s. But more seriously...I think that "Silverlight" is a webpage "plug-in" that allows to to see webpage content...such as graphics & video...sort of like "Flash" if you're more familiar with that term.

Silverlight is a drm scheme from MS. That's what netflix uses for streaming their content. And yep, it's safe to install.
