That is possibly the worst written report I've ever seen. Considering that it is from "The Inquirer" and he calls the iPod an eyePod. HAHAHA. There is news about this around the net but taking an article from The Inquirer is not a good choice.

We'll just have to wait and see what the courts say about it all. If Microsoft does get the patent my respect for them has gone down to an all time low. :|

I have to agree. That is the most poorly written article I've ever seen.

I...couldn't make any sense of that article at all. Besides being poorly written, I don't actually understand it. For one thing, what is Vole? Also, I seriously doubt its validity. If it is true, though, Apple is screwed, obviously, considering the iPod may be their most successful product to date.

Apparently the patent has nothing to do with the actual iPod itself - as well as being immoral, I should imagine it's illegal to take out a patent on something which someone else has released - but rather it's the method of making a playlist out of song 'seeds', which MS - or at least a chap who worked for them - invented before Apple released the iPod.

Some people are suggesting that, rather than Apple paying MS for the use of their patent, this will lead to more patent sharing between the companies, which in my opinion has to be a good thing for the consumer.
