Hi there. :)

Although i'm register here for so long, this is probably the first i do a thread.

Here is my problem (I hope someone can help me):

I bought about 2 and almost half years ago the first generation of Aluminum Macbook, a 2GHz Core 2Duo, with 2 GB RAM - DDR3 1067MHz;

Since i'm in University, i now use a lot of multiple programs that "eat" alot of RAM, such as Master Collection, NetBeans, Aptana, etc.

I want to buy 2x2GB of RAM now, but i really don't know if i should buy on the apple store website, or buy another ram.

Is it better to buy RAM from Apple, or am i gonna loose quality in hardware if i buy it somewhere else?

NO DO NOT BUY FROM APPLE! You will literally pay out of your behind from them! Buy from OWC and you will save tons of money!

You will keep all of the quality; you lose none just because you don't buy it from Apple.

Always glad to help....as far as shipping to Europe, I'm not entirely sure, I suppose you would have to check their site.

I aprecciate alot your help. I just order it already. It will cost me 52.88 €.

If i ordered from apple store it would have cost me 185 €.

That's a crazy amount of difference.

Once again, thank you :)

That's the funny thing about Apple :p When people say the iMacs, Macbooks, iPads, iPhones, etc. are overpriced, I have to disagree because the machines are very much worth the money. But when it comes to things like RAM, they really do try to gouge you and it really isn't defendable...

That's true. I've also heard that their RAM is a generic RAM, so they really are trying to steal from us...lol

the computers are worth the money, however more for the quality of build, customer service, and for the use of the dedicated apple only OSX.

if OSX wasnt around id be on a PC laptop, because for half the price of my current laptop i could get a twice as powerful PC. i.e i saw an advert for an i5 Dell laptop with 320GB HDD & 4GB RAM... for £499. my laptop was £950.... with a core 2 duo.
