Disk image problem

Hey guys
Basically I downloaded a torrent, used unrarx to create a disk image, it automatically saved to file directory and it appears to have taken quite a huge chunk of my free space but it's nowhere to be seen! Can't even find it with Grand Perspective. Anyone know what might have happened?

Any help would be great!

What was the torrent you downloaded?

Where did the original file download to?

What was the size of the file?

The original file is in my downloads folder and it's not in there either.
It's Reason 5, a music software and it's around 7GB. I'm usually able to solve things after a while but this is just a mystery!

So the original download from the torrent is not there? Which torrenter do you use? Open your torrenter and see if it is still in there as 'download completed'.

If it does see if you can secondary-click on it and go to 'Open in Finder' or something along those lines...see if that gives you access to the file?

The original file is there but it's just the disk image I created from the original file that I can't find. Thanks for your help though, I should probably extract it to my desktop in the future!

Well now that you found the original file, go ahead and extract it again using unrarX and simply find out where it extracted to!

Don't really understand this theory!

I think he was attempting to refer to the size of the laptop to the size of hdd space...although I believe the 13" Macbook Pro offers the same storage options as the 15"/17" Macbooks?

Blaming a laptop makes no sense.
Yep.... all the Macbooks and Macbook Pros have the same storage options.
There is no reason for anybody to run out of internal HD space, with all the external HD and backup options available.

I have a 500gb 7200rpm to begin with, and on top of that I just keep myself from downloading stuff that I know is completely unnecessary.

Although what 6string says is still completely right. I would only use the internal HD for things such as applications for the most party.



Not only external HD's by the way either....we can't forget to mention cloud storage (i.e. MobileMe, Dropbox, etc.)

When you BUY a LEGAL copy of Reason, it installs in the right place and doesn't tend to cause problems!

Just sayin'.

chas_m is right on target with this one. Reason 5 is $349.00 and never legally available as a download from a torrent site.

We do not discuss piracy or illegal activities in these forums. Like chas_m stated, you need to purchase a legal copy. If you can't afford it, do without it. This thread will be closed.
