Its interesting that all of the news and rumor sites are suggesting that OS X has been cracked. I guess it makes for better news if it were.
It *is* cracked. I've already installed it and have absolutely no reason to lie to you
It's incredible that some folk are still determined not to believe that it's true when there's so much evidence... sure one or two people fake things, but not hundreds of people at once, and certainly not loyal long-term posters who have always spoken the truth even if controversial.

I don't want to get into a moral debate, but just to say I do own a Powerbook and legally bought Tiger for it despite how easy it would've been to torrent it. This was just a hacker curiosity and then it was back to XP because that's why I have a PC on standby
Really hoping that it *doesn't* get pirated as much as Windows does, because at the moment Apple don't treat their users as potential thieves.
Just today I tried to reinstall a perfectly *legal* XP Home on a friend's HP machine - it has a sticker on it - and it wouldn't activate. After some Googling it turns out that people were stealing the OEM serial numbers and selling them on, so Microsoft now assumes that anyone trying to activate with an OEM serial number is a criminal. I had no choice but to install a cracked version instead, so even though it's actually legal, Microsoft will see it as a pirated machine. Utterly stupid.
Apple don't have such silliness, they don't even have Activation, heck they don't even have serial numbers! It's nice being able to install software without being 'guilty until proven innocent' and practically wearing handcuffs during the process. I hope it stays that way.
