Any iPod/Jailbreaking geniuses have ideas for an old bricked 1gen?

So I've got an old iPod Touch 1gen on my hands, as far as i can tell. It's pretty well bricked, my Google fu hasn't been able to help me find ANY solution or software to fix it.

Looks like it was originally jailbreaked using Pwnagetool, because this is the boot logo/recovery logo I get when trying to do DFU or Recovery mode or whatever it is by holding Power/Home for 10 seconds and then just Home.

So I can't do anything but that. Trying to restore from iTunes gives me a 1603 error, and i've tried using that SHIFT + firmware solution before but that didn't help at all.


Today I tried using iRecovery, and I'm not sure if that did anything or not, but here's a typical log of trying to use it:

So pretty much, that does nothing. If I try to restore after using that though, I actually got an Apple Logo to show up on the thing for the first time ever, pretty much. But... i still got one of those Recovery errors (the 1603 one).

Anyone have a proposed solution? I'll try anything and post results as well. thanks!


UPDATE: looks like the power was going off on the iPod before i could ever complete iRecovery. I finally got through it once, here's what i got:

So I tried a restore + option in iTunes again, and got a 20 error this time. I'll try again, but with a normal restore, not choose-your-own firmware.
