So, I am planning on buying an orange hard cover case to snap onto my mac. Are they reliable? Also, the bottom right corner of the screen on my macbook pro has a tiny dent on the aluminum. Would it still fit on? I can post a pic if needed.

What do you mean by "reliable"?

We have no idea if it will fit (photo or no photo). A hard case is a rigid object that really doesn't have much flexibility from the designed shape it's supposed to snap onto. So if your laptop deviates in some way from it's original shape...it's really hard to say if it will fit.

If this was some sort of flexible cover made of silicon or neoprene...then sure it would probably fit. But when you ask will a hard shell fit on a dented laptop...it's very hard to say. You just got to try it.:)

I will post a picture later just to see if anyone thinks it's worth a try. If they think so, and it doesn't fit, I'll just sell it on Amazon.

Here it is:

You can see on the corner that there is a slight dent, or bending of the metal. Does anyone think it's worth a try?

Like I mentioned earlier...it's totally impossible to say whether a hard case will fit or not. The photo you posted was a big help. If the damage was worse...maybe it would be easier to say yes or no. But the damage is sort of borderline...as to whether a hard case will fit or not.

I'm leaning towards saying that it will not fit, or not fit properly...since the hard shell cases rely on little plastic tabs that grip the perimeter of the laptop lip & bottom. Any deviation from the original shape will make fitting a hard shell case questionable.

You basically have to purchase the hard shell case...and see if it will fit. If it does GREAT!...if not...then just return it.

Good luck,

- Nick

Thank you! I will order it online at amazon, and if it doesn't work, I will just resell it. Thank you again!

Well, long story short, I ordered the wrong case. So, I returned it and got a different one. This one fits perfectly.

I bought a 13" Pro Last Sat. and when I brought it home I had a nice speck
semi-transparrent case that I snapped on it as soon as I took it out of the
box. It is a dark red in color, but like I said, you can see the aluminum
case through it. I'm hoping this will protect this little baby where ever I go.
Of course I bought a nice padded case to put the computer in whenever I take
it off the desk. I've seen too many abused notebooks to even take the chance
of carrying it without a case.

I leave the case on it at all times, and I also leave it on when I put it in the neoprene case. Therefore at some periods of time, it has 2 cases on it. I am protective of it, I'm a highschool student and I saved up for this baby for a year, I can't let it become ruined just because I did not protect it.
