I have been using FileBrowser for a few weeks to view files on my NAS from my iPad and it has worked great, until yesterday. Now when I try to access the drive I get an error saying the socket has timed out. I tried doing a reset on the NAS (a D-link DNS-323) but so far that hasn't fixed the problem.

Ideas?

Can you access the NAS from your computer?

Duhhhhhh!!!!!

Okay, I officially feel stupid!

I was pretty certain this should be an easy problem to solve because nothing really had changed, but the login to my NAS just wasn't working on my iPad. Throughout this exercise in frustration I was able to see and access it from my MBP.

I tried resets (hot and cold) numerous times
I deleted and re-entered the login for the DNS-323
I deleted and redownloaded the APP
I pulled my hair (actually I didn't because it's too short) when none of that worked

The problem began shortly BTW after a Dishnetwork upgrade service call which I was certain (but was wrong) was totally unconnected to my problem

I have iNet on my iPhone and I used it to check before and after and several times during my troubleshooting without seeing a problem. Which brings me to today.

I suddenly realized that iNet was showing me the memorized IP addresses from previous scans and I had to hit the little button to update and when I did I found that (of course) when I brought my network back online following the Dishnetwork Tech's visit the IP addresses had been reassigned per normal.

I edited my DNS-323 login to show its new IP address and the connection went through as before. :[:[:[

Color me red!
