Possibly but I dont think it is gonna happen until 3G is better or 4G is available wide-spread. I don't think Apple is going to release it until there is at least 90% guarantee of it working for people.

Unfortunate I know, and it would open a bigger market for it, (even though it's free but you get my point). Would love it myself if they did put it across on 3G :(

If you want to do video calling over 3G, you have other alternatives like Skype

lol, I was going for the non-jailbreak answers, as soon as I say jailbreak I get asked how to do it, and that's always a complicated subject matter haha.

At my dad's house AT&T is only edge and I've still made facetime calls over it. It was very choppy and did that digital pixelation thing sometimes, but it was really no worse than how all webcams used to be 7 or 8 years ago.
On any 3G, it works just fine

I use My3G from Cydia

7 or 8 years ago? Really? That's just silly.

I just use the free App "Tango". Works fine and no JB required.

.

Are you retarded?
7 or 8 years ago ON EDGE

Reading comprehension FAIL

On 3G, I said it works just fine. How does your Tango do on EDGE?

If you want to use Tango, whomever you're trying to talk to has to have it. Same with Skype. FaceTime is native, so for 99% of people the best option is jailbreak and My3G

That was certainly polite. I was referring to the silliness of living with the video quality of a 7 or 8 year old web cam on your phone. Seems a bit silly to me. That attitude isn't going to help you around here, but you'll figure that out pretty quick.

Why in the world would I want to use facetime, or any sort of video, on EDGE? That's just asking for frustration that isn't really needed.

Tango and Skype are both free so it's not like it's really hard to do.
