Why do most of my pdf and zip files I ftp to our printing office arrive damaged/corrupted in some way? I'm using filezilla for mac and the printer is using pc's to download the file. I've tried uploading a file and immediately download it back and I couldn't open it after that either (the original file was ok).

I've set Filezilla to binary so it should handle pdf and zip files. Here's the filezilla log (with some lines slightly edited for privacy reasons).

I've discovered that it does work when I use another ftp client like Cyberduck? Using the same proxy ftp address and username settings. Files never get damaged!

What could be wrong with my Filezilla setup? I'm using 3.0.6 since I'm using a mac with 10.4 so the latest version wouldn't run on it.

As mentioned, I'm using the exact same transfer settings in Filezilla as in Cyberduck. But for some reason, the files get altered when using Filezilla and pdf / zip files get damaged. I've test it with a pdf file. The original was 1.235.764 bytes in size,. The same file downloaded back from the printers ftp server was 1,183,636 bytes in size. I've set Filezilla from 'auto' to 'binary'. Can you think of another setting in Filezilla that would prevent altering of the file sizes?

Never mind, a more recent version of Filezilla seemed to be working better (no file size change and damaged pdf/zip files). I had to use an older version as I'm still using 10.4, but when using the most recent 10.4 version of Filezilla the problem went away for now.
