I have the first edition g5 that came out
a dual 1.8 I upgraded to 3gigs of ram
Just like 6 months ago maybe less
I installed tiger do all the updates
and I am expecting this machone to run like a dream
It takes a long time to shut down if I am using a lot of programs
Any suggestions :
Oh and I just backed up my hard drive onto a seagate f/w hard drive
Is there a way to repair my mac by reinstalling tiger and holding down a key but making sure I dont lose all my software.
I just want it running nice again I dropped a large chunk of cash
for this machine and I love it
Please give me some suggestions

I have the same machine (dual 1.8) with 4gb RAM, I did the same thing... TIGER - and yes it was slow, and very glitchy!

I suggest eating humble pie and 'going Panther style, for a while' (poet - ha)!!!!
I did, it only takes a couple of days and you'll forget the widgets, spotlight etc.

Mac works fantastic now. Just wait until Apple have fixed the problem and it will be time for 10.5!!

Did you do a clean install of Tiger? Clean installs will always give you the best results. There are occasional issues with upgrading where it does more harm than good

well illegal programs can harm your computer and since they are illegal we can't help you with your problems here
