Hi all, any help would be greatly received...

I installed a 3rd party download manager (can't remember the name) and now each of my three browsers:
Safari
Chrome
Firefox

Won't download files, the browser simply points to a URL instead of initiating the download. I have tried re-setting each and nothing appears to be working.
Has anyone any ideas? Or experienced this problem?

Cheers

You're going to need to reinstall it and then uninstall it using the included uninstaller or by following the official instructions for that DM.

Won't download files,

So uninstall it.

Good point. Although, usually when there are issues with downloading not working, it's frequently because the download manager was not properly uninstalled.

I learned my lesson with download managers. They are terrible on Macs.

cheers guys, I have uninstalled the dl manager with appcleaner, I think it may have left a preference file behind.
I only thought I'd give the manager a try but this has left a sour taste in my mouth tbh...

you seem to imply that this solved the problem? which it hasn't...
I believe the only way to avoid this problem is to stay well clear of these 3rd party DLMs in the first place!!

Lesson learned!
