You don't specifically need an Airport base station or any sort of Apple wireless router. Just about any brand wireless router will do...as long as it's capable if communicating with the b/g wireless signals of the Airport Extreme card.

One question for you. When you installed the Airport Extreme card into your eMac...did you plug the antenna wire into the Airport Extreme card?

hi nick... i thought that when i screwed in the plastic pannel that the wire was attached to, that it pressed the wire end into the card itself!!!!!

Does this mean all is good? If so...yeah that wire part can be a little confusing. You would think that inserting the Airport Extreme card into it's slot is all you would need to do (just like any expansion card you insert into a slot)...but of course there'e the little antenna wire that needs to be plugged into the card as well:)

Again...congrats if everything is good to go,
