Ever since my local repair shop installed a new hard drive in my G4 iBook I have been experiencing a lot of kernel panics, particularly when starting up while running on the battery. I'm thinking that the repair shop damaged some component in the process. If someone can translate the last console report I'd be most appreciative.

Looks like a problem with your graphics card. I say this but I don't mean it has to be hardware related. It could be driver/ software related.
Have you tried repairing your disk and repairing disk permissions via booting from your install disk > Utilities > Disk Utility > First Aid??
Could be worth a try.
