Can anyone tell me how to extract images from a GIF file. I urgently need an image from an animated GIF and have no idea how to get it.

With quicktime pro, open the gif and resave as a .mov. In photoshop Import frames to layers. Also , depending on how the gif was created preview can open it in seperate frames.
