ABC Player - not sure how to get it!

I am new to the iPad and am interested in having the app 'ABC Player'.
I have searched the apps on the iPad and does not show me anything other than the ABC News app. For some reason it is not available? I see it advertised for the iPad.
Could someone give me information as to how to get it.
It isn,t just for the 3G iPads is it? As ours is only Wi-Fi, but we do have wireless router.

The op is in Canada - have no clue if ABC has made their app available there or not.
