I used to use Parallels to run Windows Vista on my computer. I no longer need to do this, and want to uninstall both. I've heard that I can uninstall a virtual machine after opening Parallels, but Parallels won't even open for me now.

When I try to open the program, it says:
You can't use this version of the application Parallels Desktop with this version of Mac*OS*X. You have Parallels Desktop 3.0

So I'm just trying to find the best way to delete both from my computer. Any suggestions?

To uninstall Parallels cleanly, you want to use their uninstaller. If you don't have the DMG file anymore, then just re-download the trial version and open up the DMG file, you'll find a uninstaller there, run that and it will remove Parallels and by virtue also any VM's you've created..
